1. Who We Are
Monaco Trade Forum is operated by the Event Organiser, an entity operating under the laws of Romania, which publishes this website (monacotradeforum.com). For the purposes of applicable data protection law, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the Event Organiser is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
For any privacy-related enquiries, please contact us at desk@monacotradeforum.com.
2. What Data We Collect
Most of this website — including Markets, Trade, Analysis, Research and Tools — can be browsed without submitting any personal data. We may collect the following categories of personal data where you choose to contact us or submit a form (for example, to request delegate access, enquire about sponsorship, or contact the Forum desk):
- Name and surname
- Email address (including when you sign up to be notified about Forum and platform updates)
- Company name and professional role
- Area of interest (delegate, sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, media partner)
- Usage data collected automatically via Google Analytics (see Section 5)
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the personal data you provide exclusively for the following purposes:
- To process and respond to your enquiry, delegate access request, or sponsorship request
- To communicate with you regarding Monaco Trade Forum — including platform updates, Forum edition updates, programme information, and sponsorship opportunities
- To manage our relationship with delegates, sponsors, speakers, and media partners
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We use service providers who process data on our behalf. Forms on this website (including the “Notify Me” sign-up forms) are processed by Formspree, Inc. (United States), which receives the information you submit and forwards it to us by email; Formspree handles that data under its own privacy policy. This website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR:
- Consent — where you have explicitly submitted your information through one of our contact or delegate/sponsor/speaker forms; you may withdraw this consent at any time as described in Section 7
- Legitimate interests — to communicate relevant Forum and platform information to professionals who have expressed interest in Monaco Trade Forum, and to maintain and improve the security and functioning of this website
- Legal obligation — where processing is required to comply with applicable law
Email updates. We send email updates about Monaco Trade Forum (for example, announcements about the programme, speakers, venue and new tools) only if you have ticked the consent box on a sign-up form or otherwise asked us to. Each email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by using it or by writing to desk@monacotradeforum.com.
5. Cookies & Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to help us understand how visitors interact with our website.
The data collected includes pages visited, time spent on the site, geographic location (country/city level), device type, and traffic source. This data is processed by Google and transmitted to servers which may be located outside the European Economic Area. Google LLC participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of data protection.
You may accept or decline the use of analytics cookies via the cookie banner displayed on your first visit to this website. If you decline, Google Analytics will not collect any data about your visit. You may also opt out at any time via Google's opt-out tool. For full detail on the cookies used on this website, see our Cookie Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. Access request data is retained for the duration of our event planning cycle and deleted thereafter unless you have become a confirmed participant or partner. Email addresses collected through sign-up forms are kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent, or until the purpose of the sign-up has been fulfilled.
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- The right to access the data we hold about you
- The right to rectification of inaccurate data
- The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- The right to restriction of processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Romania, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), www.dataprotection.ro
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at desk@monacotradeforum.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. All data submitted through this website is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
9. International Transfers
Your data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, specifically in connection with Google Analytics. Such transfers are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection law and subject to appropriate safeguards, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Forms submitted on this website are also processed by Formspree, Inc., which is based in the United States. Formspree states in its privacy policy that it transfers personal information to the United States as needed to provide its service and takes steps to ensure that the information remains appropriately protected.
Separately, certain pages of this website (Markets, Tools and the homepage) embed live market, currency, weather and mapping widgets from third-party providers — including TradingView, the Frankfurter/European Central Bank exchange rate service, WeatherAPI, OpenStreetMap and Esri. Loading these pages causes your browser to make requests directly to those providers' servers, which may process your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies. Monaco Trade Forum does not send your name, email or other identifying information to these providers. See our Cookie Policy for further detail on third-party embeds used on this site.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Romania and applicable European Union law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Law No. 190/2018 on measures implementing the GDPR in Romania. This does not exclude any overriding mandatory legal provisions applicable in the Principality of Monaco to the physical staging of Monaco Trade Forum within that jurisdiction. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Romania.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date of the most recent revision is indicated at the top of this page. Continued use of this website following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact
For any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or the processing of your personal data, please contact us at desk@monacotradeforum.com.
